Event description

Description

What would you like to happen to your body when you die? This workshop is designed to provide information that may help you to navigate this question, or revisit it entirely. Drawing on visits to crematoria and burial grounds, the talk looks at what happens to the body after the curtain closes, or the earth encases the coffin. The latter part of the talk then focuses on new innovations in body disposal that are slowly being introduced into death practice. There will then be the opportunity to talk about what you would like to happen to your body after death.

Speaker biography: Daniel Robins is a PhD researcher in Sociology at the University of York. His internationally communicated research looks at how the dead body is managed as it passes through the death process. He has a specific interest in how medical procedures before death affect this.
