FILL in Edinburgh

Creole Italy: Igiaba Scego in conversation with Davide Messina

Chaired by Carlo Pirozzi

The Festival of Italian Literature in London (FILL) goes to Edinburgh with this special event at Blackwell's bookshop, launching an exciting new partnership with Italian Studies at the University of Edinburgh.

For this opening session, we are delighted to invite you to a conversation with Italian-Somali writer, scholar and activist Igiaba Scego, who will be discussing Italian literature today as written by migrant authors.

The conversation will include the reading of an excerpt from Scego's new novel and a book signing of the English version of her acclaimed novel Adua (Jacaranda, 2019).

The event is organised by Italian Studies, University of Edinburgh in collaboration with Associazione Culturale Wimbledon-Festival, La Città dei Lettori, Florence, and the support of the Italian Institute of Culture, Edinburgh.

For more information, please see the event in the FILL programme.

The bookshop has level access, events are seated and speakers use microphones. If you have any concerns about accessibility, please do get in touch and we will do our best to accomodate your needs. For more information, or if you would like a signed copy because you can't make it to the event, please contact the Blackwell's Edinburgh events team on 0131 622 8237 or events.edinburgh@blackwell.co.uk.
