Event description

Description

We will hold the next CrAIC meeting at the Crick on the 18th of October at 5:30pm.

Jones Albuquerque UCL, LIKA-UFPE, UFRPE, co-founder of epitrack.tech) will give a talk with the title

On the continuum computing of human beings - Is there a Leibniz´s machine to be built?

Abstract: This short seminar will present the ideas of some effort to solve an original computer science challenge: to build a dynamic continuum machine (not discrete like the Turing´s Machine) for the abductive computing that Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz drafted and Charles Darwin aspired to as well (Natura non facit saltus). The hypothesis is that the continuum machine can be built by human biological and epidemiological behaviours. Some pieces of evidence were tested on a Cellular Automata framework. We will visit some of these experiments on this initiative using e-health fundamentals and the systems built and published during the last 12 years.

As usual there will be free drinks afterwards!

If you are not a Crick employee, you will need to be registered as a visitor for the event, so please RSVP here! One of us will be at the reception at the front entrance of the institute (this is the entrance on Midland Road) 5-10 min before the talk to meet you. Should you arrive later, please ask at the reception for Aylin Cakiroglu.
