Description

A day of scientific talks organised for all Crick students, by students

It is back! The annual Crick Student Symposium will be happening, for the first time at the Crick, on July 10th! It is a fantastic opportunity for Crick students to present their research in the format of a short talk or a poster, and hear about the projects other students are carrying out.

Make sure this event is on your calendars and register here to attend and get involved! On the day, there will be short talks taking place in the Auditorium 2, broken up with coffee/tea and lunch breaks in the Manby Gallery (where the posters will be on display). All food and refreshments are free!

This year our keynote speaker will be Professor Alison Woollard, a developmental biologist from the University of Oxford whose research focuses on how gene networks encode developmental and life span programmes. She presented the 2013 Royal Institution Christmas Lecture (watch it here!).

At the end of the scientific sessions, prizes will be awarded to the best talks and posters during a drinks reception. After this, we will enjoy dinner together.

Deadlines to have in mind:

  • Registration deadline for attendance only: June 30th. All students, both graduate and undergraduate, are encouraged to attend!
  • Registration deadline to attend and present a poster: June 23rd. Please, indicate the title of your poster in the registration form.
  • Registration deadline to attend and give a short talk: June 2nd. Please, submit a title and an abstract of your research in the registration form.

If you have any enquiries, please contact the Symposium Committee at: student-symposium-2017@crick.ac.uk.
