Description
Find Your London comes to North Cricklewood along Claremont Road with activities set against the backdrop of the former Midland Brent railway and the historic Clitterhouse Farm. We're now on to the final two events in the series of four moving onto rolling hills of the Millennium Green and then to the Clitterhouse historic farm buildings.

Great Egg Hunt, Bonnet Parade and other old fashioned activities

A family day out with events on the lovely green gentle hills of Millennium Green. A chance to switch off and relax or take part in the events that are scheduled including some last minute trimming of bonnets, bikes, scooters, wheelchairs, prams, etc for the parade later in the day. There will be a few fun activities, give aways and a chance to explore the Green, get information on the history and tradition of Easter Parades as well as the local area.
1:00-1:30pm - Great Egg Hunt
2:00pm - Egg and spoon heats / Bonnet trimming
3:00pm - Bonnet Parade on the Green
3:30pm - Historical walk of the area (optional), including Brent Terrace Railway Cottages to Clitterhouse Farm, past the site of the old Handley Page factory & aerodrome to the Clitterhouse Farm buildings

Suffragette at the Farm
Monday March 28th March 2015 (from 3:30)
We’re planning a small history event at the Farm on Monday 28th March, which will focus on the suffragette movement and the life of Gladice Keevil - an influential suffragette who was born at Clitterhouse Farm. There will be a presentation by Barnet local Mary Rowland who has carried out extensive research on the suffragettes of Holloway prison.
There will be a pop up cafe in the grounds and a chance to get some barista training!

Handley Page Comes Back Home to Cricklewood

Handley Page was an innovative aircraft design and manufacturing company based in Cricklewood between 1912 and the early 1960s. It is also associated with the the start of civil aviation between 1919 and 1929 at Cricklewood Aerodrome, which is now the Golders Green Estate.
Clitterhouse Farm are excited to be hosting a history event to celebrate Handley Page's connection to Cricklewood. Speakers include Rob Langham, author of the recently published book: Bloody Paralyser: The Giant Handley Page Bombers of the First World War; Peter Elliot, Head of Archives at the RAF Museum at Hendon; Peter Hart, oral historian from the Imperial War Museum and Mary Bennett, local resident with childhood memories of Cricklewood Aerodrome.
