We are pleased to announce, in association with the Scottish Criminal Bar Association (SCBA), the return of the Criminal Day Conference on Saturday, 5 November 2016. The Conference will take place at the Hilton Grosvenor, Grosvenor Street, Haymarket, Edinburgh.
In keeping with years past, some of Scotland's top criminal practitioners will be instructing delegates on the developments in criminal law and improvement of court advocacy skills. The Conference will be chaired by Thomas Ross, President of the SCBA and Claire Mitchell, Vice President of the SCBA.
Thomas Ross will provide a session on Advocacy Skills and Claire Mitchell will address delegates on “Exceptional Hardship: Conduct of Proof and Views of the Appeal Court". Brian McConnachie QC will provide an “Update on the Law of Mutual Corroboration/Moorov” and John Scullion QC will share his expertise on “Making Submissions in a Criminal Trial”. Frances McMenamin QC will provide an “Update on Vulnerable Witnesses”. Susan Duff will provide a session on “Criminal Practice: Really Useful Things to Know” and Tony Lenehan will discuss “20 Things You Thought You Knew About Criminal Law!”
The conference offers 6 hours' CPD and is inclusive of lunch, at the rate of £60 (£45 concession rate for students). The Conference will close at 5pm with a drinks reception.
