The CRISIS simulation course developed for Epsom and St Helier staff only, allows multi professional staff to learn as a team around the recognition and management of the deteriorating patient. The course also focuses on the role of Human Factors such as leadership and communication within the context of healthcare and how we can proactively utilise Human Factors skills and understanding to help us work safely.
This course is now MANDATORY for all medical and surgical nurses and healthcare assistants at Epsom and St Helier, working in inpatient and patient assessment areas, plus all foundation doctors. Nurses and HCA’s are required to attend once every three years and foundation doctors once a year

The Elena Power Centre for Simulation and Human Factors is part of Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust and is situated on the Epsom Hospital site. The specialist multiprofessional simulation team comprises of:

The core simulation team are also supported by a rotational Simulation Fellow and various external faculty.
