With the annexation of Crimea and the conflict in the Donbas, the EU needs more than ever to understand what Ukrainians themselves think about their future. Too much of the debate and the diplomacy in the current crisis has been conducted without Ukraine. What role should the EU assume in the Ukraine crisis and with what means? 

Ulrike Hauer joined the European Commission's Support Group for Ukraine in September 2014. From 2004 to 2012 she was posted at the EU's Delegations to Ukraine and to Turkey. At the European External Action Services, and the European Commission, she held various positions in the area of external relations and trade. 

Serhiy Leshchenko is a Ukrainian journalist and elected MP since October 2014. He is a former reporter for Novyi Kanal, and worked as deputy editor for the internet newspaper Ukrayinska Pravda.

Andrew Wilson is a Senior Policy Fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations and the editor of What does Ukraine Think?.

Dr Tomila Lankina joined the LSE IR Department in 2012 as Senior Lecturer in International Relations. She has previously held research appointments at the World Resources Institute and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, in Washington, DC, and Stanford University.
