CrisisHack 2018
Event Information
Description
Our world is in constant danger from natural and man-made disaster. The risk of flood, famine, hurricanes, earthquakes and disease is ever present. We are already seeing the impact of climate change in rising sea levels and extreme weather events. Aid budgets are stretched and volunteers under pressure. The global humanitarian response community is in desperate need of innovation, and we’re relying on you to make that happen. Do you have the ideas, skills, tools and passion to deliver a solution to the global humanitarian response community?
If you think you do, then join us at CrisisHack 2018 where we would like you to combine geospatial technology and tools to prototype and test a solution ready for the field.
This year, we will run three strands:
- International: Sanitation
- Local: Flooding in the UK
- Open Call: Any other humanitarian response solutions
Your solutions will be pitched to a panel of judges where it will be validated by real humanitarian organisations and potentially receive funding of up to £10,000 to develop the solution further.
