Join us for the firist Crit Club of the year led by Black Hole Club member Sian Macfarlane where she will present an overview of her practice to date, focusing on her film, installation and performance work.

In this Crit club she will show several film works and discuss their creation and the intentions with the work, as well as discussing present projects and future plans.

This event is free and open to the public.

Sian Macfarlane is an artist with a research based practice involving photography, moving image and performance. Her work seeks to unlock archival histories, and latent information in spaces, and activate it in the present, weaving biographical narratives, to form multi-layered perspectives on experiences of place. She is concerned with the bodily sensory experience, frequently drawing on film references, scientific modes of knowledge, the earth sciences, and esoteric narratives . Concerns also include obsolete technology and the 3d installation possibilities of lens based work. She has recently exhibited as part of The Visceristahood exhibition ‘Her Horror’ at Vivid Projects, as well as at the University of Wolverhampton. Her work has also been exhibited at The New Art Gallery Walsall, and Photofusion London. She makes music under the name SWLLWS, performing internationally.
