Breaking the barriers – a smoother transition into industry

Despite continued efforts, barriers still exist for women veterans entering the corporate working world. We all know the challenges but how can we bring together the ‘best bits’ of our individual pathways and transition programmes to build a consistent approach to attract, recruit and retain women veterans? What if we created an industry leading approach to the military leaver pathway and initiated that common approach as Women in Defence UK partners? The benefits would be clear: job seekers would know what to expect and what is expected of them, and employers would know the timeline and anticipated skills and competencies from Day 1.

Panel speakers:

Bob Anstey, Defence and Nuclear Energy Sector Director, Costain

Angela Owen OBE, Founder, Women in Defence UK

Annette Berry, Military Women Employment Lead, Forces Employment Charity

Georgina Smith, HR Project Manager, Babcock International

This event is open to all Women in Defence UK Partners, but will be of particular interest to those in recruitment and talent acquisition, HR, L&D and people strategy / operations roles.
