A advanced course examining the facts, difficulties, and opposing viewpoints surrounding the theory, practice, and study of child sexual exploitation and abuse. In order to strengthen their critical comprehension of Child Sexual Exploitation and Child Sexual Abuse, learners will interact with video lectures, slides, notes, and reading assignments to increase their critical understanding of Child Sexual Exploitation and Child Sexual Abuse.
Taught by an accredited VictimFocus facilitator, Sarah Turner, who has over 25 years experience working in the Health and Social Care sector, is a registered Social Worker and is the Founder of Phoenix Training.
Course Learning Objectives:
- To explore the way the definitions of child sexual exploitation and abuse developed and evolved
- To consider the way language changes the way we perceive victims of CSE and CSA
- To explore research and practice evidence in CSE and CSA practice
A CPD certificate from VictimFocus will be provided via email at the end of the course.
This is an online session, being delivered on Wednesday 14th May 2025 lasting six hours from 9.00am – 3.00pm, with breaks. We recommend that you join 5-10 minutes prior to the start to ensure your technology is working correctly as we will be unable to delay the start due to the number of delegates we anticipate attending.
Ticket Prices:
Professional CPD ticket: £120 per person payable in advance (plus Eventbrite fees). The course fee includes a certified CPD certificate that will be forwarded after the session following confirmation of attendance.

After booking, please remember to check your e-mail (messages may be forwarded to your spam/junk folder) for a confirmation receipt from Eventbrite sharing a link for registration. Eventbrite will also send reminders prior to the course taking place. To ensure delegate confidentiality no recordings are made; this is run as a 'live' event only.
Refunds, Terms & Conditions:
1) Eventbrite fees are not refundable.
2) Cancellations with over a month's notice will see you being able to claim a full refund minus the Eventbrite fees mentioned in point 1. There will be the option for you to move your booking date free of charge to another available training date on the calendar if there is space available to do so.
3) No refunds will be given for cancellation at under a month's notice. It will be possible to move your booking free of charge to another available date if there are available spaces to do so.
4) If you do not attend the training, no refund will be given but it may be possible to transfer your booking in exceptional circumstances subject to discussion and availability to do so.
5) Late arrivals will not be admitted entry past 09.30 on the day of training. Moving your date to another available slot in this situation if you have missed the start time will be subject to discussion after the training event has taken place.
6) If the organiser has to cancel the training due to sickness or other unavoidable events, a full refund (including the Eventbrite fees mentioned in point 1) will be given, or an offer will be made for you to transfer your place to another date, which will be added to the training schedule with at least 2-3 months notice.
7) there is a minimum attendance of five per course, should the minimum attendance threshold not be met the organiser reserves the right to offer a place on a different date or a full refund.
