Crochet for Beginners (3 week course - daytime)

Enjoy three sessions learning all the crochet essentials! Debbie will teach you all you need to know to get started with your first crochet projects.

Sessions are on 3 consecutive Thursdays from 10.30am-1pm and the course fee is the total for all 3 sessions including materials.

You'll make 3-4 small, fun projects, a lanyard/scissor keep/keyring, granny squares, crochet flowers and a cute crochet heart. Each project is specifically designed to allow you to practice your skills as you learn.

No crochet skills are required - Debbie will be starting right at the beginning. Have some experience or returning to crochet? This course is also a great refresher.

What you will learn:

• Making a slipknot
• Making a foundation chain (and what one is!)
• Slipstitch
• Double crochet
• Treble crochet
• Increasing
• Decreasing
• Making a simple square (granny square)
• Reading crochet charts and patterns
• Finishing and seaming
• Tension (gauge) and why it matters
• Tips and tricks for avoiding common mistakes (and how to fix them!)

All materials are included - we provide quality materials - lovely yarn, crochet hook, comprehensive professionally illustrated photo handouts and a selection of Debbie's own, exclusive patterns. We also include tea, coffee and biccies!

About your tutor:

Debbie has over 12 years' experience teaching crochet and has been a published crochet designer for over 25 years so you'll be in good hands!
