You're invited to spend a few hours on a Wednesday afternoon de-stressing, relaxing and creating something for the new arrival with other expectant parents. You will learn how to make a cosy granny square blanket for your baby - beginner friendly! - and have a chance to chat with other expectant parents.
Crocheting a blanket for your baby is really special: a lovely keepsake that your family can hold on to for years to come. When you've made it with your own hands, it isn't only an heirloom for your baby, but a way for you to spend time nesting and connecting with your baby in the lead up to their arrival.
In the months leading up to baby's arrival, there are lists upon lists of things that need done, bought and prepared.

Crochet is an incredibly mindful craft which quicky promotes relaxation. Spending some time over the next few months crocheting is good for your wellbeing and mental health, as well as giving you a chance to connect with baby and settle down with some of those cosy nesting feelings. Not to mention that when it gets to the end stages of pregnancy, crocheting a baby blanket is a great activity to do whilst waiting it out on the sofa!
Never crocheted before? Don’t worry about it! Granny squares are great projects for beginners, as you only need one stitch, and after a few rows it becomes second nature. In the session you will learn how granny squares are made, and then its just a case of continuining on until you run out of yarn, and you have your blanket! The group will be small so that you get help from the tutor, as well as a chance to chat. You will be guided through each and every step.
Crochet materials are provided for this event, and your colour preferences taken in advnce so you can choose your preferred colours. Once you've booked your ticket, I'll be in touch to see which colour yarn you would like! Choose from:

This workshop takes place at Nest. Glasgow's family wellbeing centre where you will relax in a comfortable, welcoming enviroment with tea and biscuits readily available.
