Is your primary school struggling to engage some or all pupils in Numeracy and Literacy? Are they a focus area in your school improvement plan? Do you have an interest in making Numeracy and Literacy more active?
This courses focuses on how cross-curricular links can be used to enhance and secure learning in Literacy, Numeracy and PE.
Essential for PE, Numeracy and Literacy Coordinators, teachers with an interest in Numeracy and/or Literacy and PE, and any teachers looking for new and exciting ideas to bring student learning to life!
- Practical activities where cross-curricular learning is strong including Games, Athletic, Dance and Gym Activities
-Confirmation of cross-curricular learning and why it can be of value
-What do we want learnt and achieved in each subject area?
-How do we plan a cross-curricular unit of learning?
By the end of the day you will
-Be clear about what makes effective cross-curricular learning and how to plan for it
-Have a range of PE, Sport and Dance ideas and activities that are best developed through linking with other subjects, especially Maths / Numeracy and English / Literacy
-Be able to plan a lesson and unit of learning (resources and templates will be provided)
-Know how to plan for progression in PE and the other subject involved
