Description

The Leeds Institute of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine (LICAMM, FMH) is organising a cross-faculty workshop themed ‘The role of mechanical force in health and disease’, with the aim of forming new cross-faculty consortia to address major challenges related to human health. This workshop will bring together researchers from FMH, FBS, MAPS and Engineering to explore topics for collaborative research and teaching, and to identify opportunities for potential grant applications.

The workshop will include short presentations to highlight successes and opportunities in research and funding, followed by interactive, facilitated breakout sessions on 6 different sub-themes to discuss major clinical and biomedical challenges and potential technological solutions.

The draft programme is as follows:

12:00-13:00 Lunch and posters by early career scientists

13:00-14:00 Presentations on case studies, challenges and opportunites

14:00-15:30 Breakout sessions

15:30-16:00 Group discussion

16:00-17:00 Drinks and networking

The registration form for this workshop provides the opportunity to answer a few questions on your research interests. We encourage you to answer these questions in order to help us further develop the sub-themes for the breakout sessions.
