Cross University Research Event:

Health and Wellbeing

Thursday 28 March 2019 from 4.00pm to 6.00pm

STEM Building, University of Essex, Colchester Campus

 

The aim of this event is to bring researchers from across our three faculties together around the broad topic of Health and Wellbeing.

Between 4.00pm and 5.30pm there will be short 3 min presentations from up 20 speakers representing research across our three faculty on this important topic. Following this, there will be refreshments and networking to allow for discussion. 

Do come along and contribute to this new initiative aimed at enabling researchers to come together to share ideas and develop new research collaborations. To reserve a place please book through Eventbrite

This term, our theme is Health and Wellbeing and the following speakers will be giving us an insight into their research:

  • Dr Rebecca Clift, Language and Linguistics: 'Family Matters: The interactional origins and evolution of domestic arguments'
  • Dr Alita Nandi & Dr Rennee Luthra, ISER & Sociology: 'Ethnic and racial harassment and mental health'
  • Professor Marco Francesconi, Economics: 'Three research topics: fertility and biomarkers, the effects of a pill scare, and the effects of drink driving restrictions'
  • Dr Cara Booker, ISER: 'Social media and adolescent wellbeing'
  • Dr Susan Kegerris, PPS: 'Psychodynamic interventions in wellbeing'

 

All talks will be available to watch live via Zoom for Southend (GB.2.12) and Loughton (Director's Room)
