Joint meeting with IESIS and ISE

Prof Gordon Masterton, Chair of Future Infrastructure, University of Edinburgh.

Gordon is a past president of the Institution of Engineers and Shipbuilders in Scotland, founder and current Chairman of the Scottish Engineering Hall of Fame. He is a past president of the Institution of Civil Engineers, former chairman of the Construction Industry Council, and until 2015, was Vice-President of Jacobs Engineering, and from 2009 was the UK Government's project representative on the £15bn Crossrail development in London – Europe’s largest construction project to date. He is a member of the Independent Assurance Panel for the HS2 high-speed rail link.

At £14.8bn, London's Crossrail is one of the biggest infrastructure projects in Europe. Gordon will take us through progress on the project from inception to present day, highlighting some of the engineering and governance challenges along the way.
