Event Details

A general invertebrate recording day at Crowden, Peak District (VC58, Derbyshire). This is a joint event with Sorby Invertebrate Group.

We'll be targetting the Crowden Great Brook valley between Bareholme Moss and Rakes Moss, which is mainly upland heathland and blanket bog under 300 m asl. This open access land is within the 'pan handle' of the Cheshire Vice County (58) but resides in the modern county of Derbyshire. It is part of the extensive Dark Peak SSSI. The area isn't thought to have been the focus of any previous invertebrate recording.

Dark Peak SSSI Citation

Booking essential: Further details will be circulated a week before the day. You will be notified via email if the event is cancelled due to a forecast of adverse weather.

Parking: please meet in the free car park off Woodhead road at SK072993 - it is marked on OS maps.

N.B. This is an Open Access land owned by United Utilities.
