Event description

Description

Please join us for the free public open day of Croxley Great Barn in conjunction with The Three Rivers Museum, Rickmansworth. An opportunity to visit one of Hertfordshire's oldest timber framed buildings.

The barn holds all that was considered dear to William Morris and the other founding members of the SPAB. Built in the spring of 1398, with oak trees felled in the Winter of 1397, it is a remarkable structure, Grade II* listed, and unchanged for many years, remaining relatively unaltered from the time of the Plantagenet Kings.

The tour will commence at 11am at the barn, so please at arrive at 10.30am whether by train, car or foot to the St Joan of Arc School car park, Rickmansworth High Street, WD3 1HG, where it is a 10-15 minute sign-posted walk to the barn.

Free parking available in the field (WD3 1HG).

Please bring cash on the day if you wish to buy refreshments, drinks or attend the BBQ. Thank you.
