Croydon Tech City's "Future Tech City" Launch for Teachers, Parents & Technologists - March 2017 at TMRW

Croydon Tech City invites all local primary and secondary schools, in addition to all local education volunteers to its 2017 Future Tech City Launch at TMRW, on Croydon High Street.
NOTE: There is a 4PM Code Club training session for PRIMARY SCHOOL teachers, one hour before the event starts. If you want register to attend this ONE HOUR TRAINING SESSION and are from a Primary School please register here.

At the event from 5PM, all attendees will have the opportunity to hear talks from the following speakers:
- Code Club - Outlining how Code Club and CTC can support (for free) primary school teachers to deliver STEM skills
- Apps for Good - Explaining how Apps for Good can support (for free) secondary school teachers to deliver STEM skills and events
- BBC Microbit - Learn about the BBC's initiative to give away a free pocket-sized computer to every Year 7 age pupil in the UK
- CTC Apprenticeships - We will announce how Croydon Tech City and our business community can support you find apprenticeships for your students
- Teach First - Discussing their 'Access Toolkit' that provides guidance to parents, carers and teachers on how best to support post-16 and post-18 progression
- Computing at Schools - A support network of professionals to help primary and secondary school teachers that teach computing in schools
- Founders 4 Schools - Provide schools with a register of business leaders and company founders who will come in for free to give talks
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with all the education support providers above and also Croydon Tech City tech specialists to support your understanding of the tech industry in general.
The aim of the event is to:
- Identify schools that want the above education providers to come in and provide FREE STEM support and opportunities to pupils AND teachers
- Find volunteers from the Croydon community to support the delivery of STEM skills to Croydon children through our various extra-curricular programmes
- Find tech businesses that are willing to provide work experience or apprenticeships to Croydon teens
