Join Cross River Partnership (CRP) for the sixth session of CRP’s Connect 4 Series – People and Places: Designing Sustainably and Safely, taking place on Thursday 30th June, 4pm – 4:45pm. Adapting the public realm is vital for a green recovery, and this session will look at interventions and guidance on how public space can be made more sustainable, more inclusive and safer for all those who use it.

CRP Business Improvement District partner Central District Alliance will be talking about their current and upcoming public realm work. With people returning to Central London offices, as well as greater focus on both health and climate change, the CDA is committed to supporting public realm improvements that enable safe, comfortable movement, sustainable transport choices and health and wellbeing.

Steer will also be launching the 'Walking Freight Feasibility Study', examining how walking freight using pedestrian porters could work in an integrated delivery system. This has the potential to replace van deliveries in built up areas of London, reducing congestion and pollution, and helping organisations to reach their CESR goals.

CRP and Steer will also be launching "Towards Vision Zero: Guidelines to help Local Authorities in the development of Road Danger Reduction Strategies and Action Plans". The guide provides analysis of areas and interventions and recommendations of ambitious action which is required to achieve Vision Zero in London. The talk will go into detail about the case studies included in the guide and discuss the guidelines proposed.

There will be a panel at the end where attendees will have a chance to ask questions about the session.

The panel for Session 6 of CRP’s Connect 4 series consists of:

1. Lucy Minyo, Public Realm Lead, Central District Alliance

2. Fiona Jenkins, Associate, Steer

3. Ross Phillips, Sustainable Transport Project Manager, Cross River Partnership

4. Rachael Aldridge, Communications Project Manager, Cross River Partnership

This online webinar will be taking place on Microsoft Teams. You will receive a link to join the session in your invitation. There will also be interactive polls so that you can ask questions to presenters.
