TALK

Acclaimed naval historian Andrew Lambert charts the curious relationship between the British and Robinson Crusoe, an island on the other side of the world in the South Pacific. The tiny island assumed a remarkable position in British culture, most famously in Daniel Defoe’s novel.

This talk will reveal the truth behind the legend, bringing to life the voices of the visiting sailors, scientists and artists, as well as the wonders, tragedy and violence they encountered.

We run an exciting range of events and exhibitions on a wide variety of topics. For more details, visit nationalarchives.gov.uk/whatson
