Crying and Capitalism

We’re all good people. And we’re also human animals with an amazing evolved and embodied intelligence. The expression of emotion in order to understand and learn from painful experience is a crucial part of that intelligence. Capitalism (and all oppressive societies) brutalise us and suppress emotional expression to blunt empathy and inhibit solidarity. This enables exploitation, our inhuman treatment of each other and effective divide and rule. It’s not surprising we often find the idea of emotional expression icky! Come and explore these ideas and next steps for effective activism. Looking forward to seeing you at Tiny Rebel.

Activists Cafe: in social change movements we, the active people, are the main resource. We’re precious. In this time of increasing uncertainty as we struggle towards positive change, it’s common to feel discouragement and burn out. The activists café aims to support activists through fun, building connections and solidarity, sharing ideas and reflection.
