30 YEARS ON FROM THE CHILD RIGHTS CONVENTION: WHERE ARE WE ON STREET CHILDREN'S RIGHTS?

30 years on from the Child Rights Convention and 2 years after General Comment N.21 on Children in Street Situations, street children around the world are still being denied their rights. Join us to discuss the progress made and hear about innovative solutions aimed at securing legal rights, protections and opportunities for street children.

Speakers confirmed so far:

Philip Alston: Special Rapporteur on Extreme Poverty and Human Rights. Recently published a report on violations of Human Rights of people living in extreme poverty in the US and UK

Nima Elbagir: Senior International correspondent for CNN and award-winning journalist recognised for investigating human rights abuses and child labour across Africa More speakers being confirmed

There will be several sessions on advocacy, research and solutions for realising the rights of street children. We will also be introducing our new online platform, the Legal Atlas, highlighting information on laws and policies that affect street children all around the world.

Workshop topics and a full list of confirmed speakers to be announced in September.

Please contact Jessica Clark on jessica@streetchildren.org if you have any questions or would like to discuss remote participation.
