The Department for Education (DfE) is consulting on the Children's Social Care National Framework and Dashboard. To support this consultation, DfE is hosting a series of events to ensure people have the opportunity to share their views on the National Framework.

What is this event?

On 30th March we are inviting leaders in children's social care from the South East to meet with DfE colleagues to discuss the National Framework and Dashboard. We are keen to hear directly from leaders working in local authorities as the National Framework may change the way local authorities conduct their work. The National Framework will be issued as statutory guidance by the end of the year so it is important that views from across the sector are heard ahead of publication.

Who is this event for?

This event will be an opportunity for leaders to share their views on the outcomes and expectations which are set out in the National Framework, as well as on the data collected in the Dashboard. This event is for senior leaders in children’s social care, including DCSs, practice leaders (assistant directors or equivalent) and any other posts involved in the strategic direction of practice in an LA. We will be running an event for practitioners in your region on the same day. This will be for frontline staff, which might include social workers, family support workers, team managers, your LA’s multi-disciplinary staff.

Where and when is this event?

The event will take place online and confirmed attendees will be sent a link to join a virtual call prior to the event. There are limited spaces available so anyone who is unable to sign up will be able to join a waiting list in case tickets become available.

The event will last an hour, and involve a short presentation from officials at the DfE, before attendees are invited to share their views on the National Framework.
