The Cucumber Benches along the Hove Promenade adjacent to Hove Lawns need restoring, repairing and repainting. Work will be carried out by R J Dance and Community Payback. We also want to give volunteers the opportunity to get involved and support this task by getting involved. Our hope is that we can make a big improvement to this area by not only improving these heritage benches but also improving the area by removing weeds and overgrown vegetation, reinstating the shingle on to the beach, carrying out maintenance to the railings and shelters, and any other simple tasks we can undertake.
The sessions will last for 4 hours from 10:00 but we do not expect you to be there for the whole session but if you do want to help for the full session you may want to bring some lunch with you. We will provide water and hopefully we will be able to organise some hot drinks too. If you book a space, you can come along whenever suits you and finish when you need to. But we will be really pleased if you can help for the full session.
We will be involving Community Payback on Wednesdays in this project but R J Dance and Brighton & Hove Council Officers will be at all the activities taking place on the Fridays along with volunteers and resident groups.
