Our keynote speakers include Mike Lynch (Co-founder, Autonomy), Mark Asseily (CEO & Founder, State) and Jon Bradford (Managing Director, TechStars). Mike Lynch (Co-founder, Autonomy)
Mike founded Autonomy in 1996 based on technology invented at Cambridge University, where he studied Information Sciences, received a Ph.D. and held a research fellowship in adaptive pattern recognition. He served as CEO of Autonomy for over fifteen years, during which time it became one of the UK's most successful technology companies on the FTSE100. Autonomy was acquired by HP for $11 billion in 2011. Mike is regarded as Britain's most successful technology entrepreneur and has won numerous awards, including Computer Weekly's 'Most Influential Person of the Year' and the Chartered Institute for IT's award for Outstanding Contribution to IT in 2011. He was awarded an OBE for Services to Enterprise in 2006. Mike is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, an honorary fellow of Christ's College Cambridge and a non-executive director of the British Library. He is also a scientific advisor to the UK Prime Minister.
Mark Asseily (CEO & Founder, State)
Mark Asseily, CEO of State, holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BA with honors from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School. Previously, Mark was Head of Product Development for the leading disruptor in mobile VOIP, Rebtel and the Director of Business Development with Skype, which he joined when it was still small and relatively unknown. He was involved in many of the early strategic product decisions. Prior to Skype, Mark was at Moxi (acquired by Digeo) in Palo Alto, CA. There, he did all technology licensing deals and led business development of the software platform to the largest US cable companies, including Time Warner Cable & Cox.
Jon Bradford (Managing Director, TechStars)
Jon is the Managing Director of Techstars in London. Previously Jon was the co-founder and CEO of Springboard. Jon loves to help start-ups and their founders achieve their true potential. Over the last 2 years, Jon acted as an advisor to many other multi-company accelerators from Montreal to Moscow. Since launching Europe’s first bootcamp accelerator in 2009 – The Difference Engine – he helped to launch Springboard based in Cambridge and London. In addition, he has also founded ignite100, a re-invention of the Difference Engine, that combines a 13 week accelerator with follow on funding of up to £100k per team and Startup Wise Guys in Estonia, Eleven in Bulgaria and TexDrive in Moscow.
