Dear all, please join us on the 12th of May for the biggest event of this year's CUE business creation competition at the CUE Grand Finale 2016! The Grand Finale promises a showcase of the best business ideas across Cambridge University.
Our keynote speakers include Lord Karan Bilimoria (Chairman at Cobra Beer), Rahul Vohra (Founder of Rapportive, CEO of Superhuman, investor, advisor and previous CUE president) and Georgina Hemmingway (Founder of Footprint Cafes).

CUE 2016 Angel Panel:
Dr Darrin Disley (CEO at Horizon Discovery Group PLC) is currently CEO and President of Horizon Discovery Group plc a company he has led from start-up through its listing on the London Stock Exchange in 2014 where he achieved a $113 million placement a record for a life science company from the Cambridge cluster. Darrin supports academic, entrepreneurship and mentoring programs in the UK via the Professor Christopher R Lowe Carpe Diem Enterprise Fund and is an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Judge Business School and Enterprise Fellow at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Institute of Biotechnology both at the University of Cambridge.
Georgina Hemmingway (Founder of Footprint Cafes)
Georgina is founder of Footprint Cafés, co-founder of New Leaf Book Café and graduate of Cambridge Judge Business School. In its first year New Leaf was consistently ranked in the top 10 on Tripadvisor; became sustainable as a business; employed a 17 strong local team; made over $20,000 in net profits which it donated to 8 different local organisations and started its own rural schools book donation programme. Footprint Cafes will see the expansion of the New Leaf business model in to a global chain. Georgina is passionate about Cambodia and the growth of social enterprise in the region as a means of empowering local communities. Before entering the world of social entrepreneurship Georgina worked in the political arena heading the parliamentary offices of two government ministers, coordinating the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Debt, Aid a& Trade as well as working as a political consultant for Publish What You Fund and The International Corporate Accountability Roundtable.
Rahul Vohra (Founder of Rapportive, CEO of Superhuman, investor, advisor and previous CUE president)
Rahul is founder and CEO of Superhuman — Blazingly Fast, Visually Gorgeous Email. Previously, Rahul was co-founder and CEO of Rapportive, which was acquired by LinkedIn. GQ once described him as “a slender English gentleman of Indian extraction who’s 50% hair and 50% brain.”
Paul Higgins (co-founder and CTO of Crowd Valley)
Paul is a serial entrepreneur with an operational background in finance and technology companies. Paul has over a decade’s experience working in various business development, operational and product roles within technology companies, including two B2B startups that have achieved eight-figure exits following 100% year-on-year growth. He started his career in product development and testing roles in UBS Capital Markets and IBM’s Hursley Research Lab in the UK before going on to eBay, UBS, Barclays, and Rapid Innovation Group.
