As you may be aware, Culinary Medicine UK (CMUK) was established to help healthcare professionals translate nutrition and cooking skills to clinical practice. We use the kitchen as a classroom and multi professional case studies to enhance nutrition consultation skills to improve patient care
We have had incredible support and feedback thus far and since inception in 2018 we have achieved the following:
- Consolidated our social enterprise
- Run courses for over 50 healthcare professionals and medical students
- Built key partnerships within the industry
- Featured in the Telegraph, The Times and Daily Mail,
- Course visit by BBC Radio 4 and by Prue Leith for a blog on Prue Leith.com
- Featured on Jamie Oliver’s show – Friday Night Feasts with a blog and feature on Jamieoliver.com
We are a multidisciplinary team in the truest sense, with doctors, dietitians, psychologists and health coaches. We are confident that we can pave the way for a new generation of better equipped healthcare professionals.
Our main aim is to elevate the conversation around food and nutrition. The Hackathon will be used to explore the scope and future of Culinary Medicine in the UK.
Key highlights of the day:
- Our Patron, Lord Karan Bilimoria of Chelsea, CBE, delivering a short opening speech.
- A tour of the kitchens at award winning centre of Culinary Arts, Westminster Kingsway
