Part 1 – Cultural Awareness

Cultural awareness training is pivotal in the modern organisation for a multitude of reasons, ranging from improved communication to fostering inclusivity. Embracing cultural sensitivity and awareness helps us understand how cultural differences may affect and influence individuals when forming their unique personalities, perceptions and their interactions. This will help prevent cultural problems in the workplace, support effective communication and improve employee morale and performance. Every organisation should prioritise improving this aspect – a more culturally diverse and inclusive environment allows employees to collaborate and interact more easily, effectively and respectfully. Your enhanced knowledge will also improve service delivery and business resilience.

Part 2 – Lived Experiences

Our trainer, Shamim Eimaan, was a child refugee and came to the UK with her family when Idi Amin expelled over 60,000 Asians from Uganda in 1972. She was born in Uganda, grew up in Birmingham and moved to York in 1986.

Discover her refugee story and how this community rebuilt their lives in York and other areas in the UK through an emotive, engaging and award-winning Rebuilding Lives Uganda50 York touring exhibition. Your Site Title (eimaanccs.co.uk)
