Event description

Description

The Institute of Fundraising Cultural Sector Network National Conference 2019 is a one-day conference for fundraisers within the cultural sector, curated in partnership with Young Arts Fundraisers. Entering its fourth year, it has now established itself as the largest conference in Europe specifically aimed at arts and heritage fundraisers. Last year’s sold-out conference, which drew over 250 attendees, took place at the Barbican. We are delighted this year to be hosted at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art’s new building; the jewel of their £28 million redevelopment.

Responding to our theme – “Learning from other sectors” – we have a roster of excellent speakers from both within and outside of the arts, including representatives from Coutts, Imperial War Museums, MQ Health, National Theatre, Royal Opera House, Roundhouse, Solar Aid and The Open University. We are delighted to confirm that Madani Younis, the new Creative Director of the Southbank Centre will be joining as our Opening Plenary speaker.

The full programme is available to review on our conference website here. Breakout sessions this year are split across:

  • Practical Hands-on Workshops on everything from perfecting your corporate pitch and meeting with major donors through to conducting prospect research, measuring impact and rethinking your membership scheme.

  • Landscape Panel Discussions, Roundtables and Case Studies which take a deep dive in to themes that include future trends around major philanthropy, how social media impacts fundraising and the challenges of fundraising outside of London.

  • Personal Professional Development Sessions for all levels of experience, from how to approach moving into management to how, through comedy, to become a more confident public speaker.

Reflecting our partnership with Young Arts Fundraisers and Arts Council England, sessions throughout the programme are designed with early career and solus fundraisers in mind.

Alongside the more senior focused Landscape sessions award-winning trainer Rob Woods will be running a session for directors of development and those leading fundraising within their organisation on how to create a fundraising friendly culture. Register here for this session, taking place from 10-11am in our smallest space the Rittner Room. Spaces are limited and offered on a first come first served basis.
