This Culture and Values in Care course explores the crucial role of a strong value base within care practice and how it shapes workplace culture. Participants will examine the importance of embedding safeguarding principles and a person-centred approach at the heart of their work, ensuring services are both safe and empowering.
Through interactive discussion and case studies, you’ll gain a clear understanding of the 6Cs of care – Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage and Commitment – and how these translate into everyday practice. The course also explores how these values underpin a positive workplace culture, linking directly to the six key principles of the Care Act 2014: Empowerment, Prevention, Proportionality, Protection, Partnership and Accountability.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Recognise the importance of the 6Cs in shaping effective, compassionate care.
- Understand how strong values help foster a safe and supportive workplace culture.
- Identify what good practice looks like when applying the principles of the Care Act 2014.
- Reflect on the risks and consequences when values and principles are not embedded in care.
