Event Details

Arts & Business Scotland invites you to join us at our first Culture & Business Forum.
This event will give cultural organisations and businesses the opportunity to learn more about how to collaborate effectively and make the most out of sponsorship opportunities.
As a funding stream for cultural organisations, business sponsorship is increasing in importance. As well as hearing directly from cultural organisations and businesses about their sponsorship experiences, you will find out more about how to double the value of business sponsorship and the associated benefits through match funding from the Culture & Business Fund Scotland.

The event will feature

  • Case studies of sponsorship stories from across Scotland
  • Information about doubling funding through the Culture & Business Fund Scotland
  • Guidance on effective and collaborative engagement with businesses
  • Excellent opportunities for networking and peer learning.

  • Chair: David Watt, CEO Arts & Business Scotland
  • Christine Palmer, Past President of Dundee Institute of Architects (DIA)
  • Claire How, Creative Producer (currently Senior Events Office, Dundee City Council)
  • Kirsten Cockburn and Yvonne Halliday, Scottish Ballet
  • John and Hilary Austin, Check It Scaffold Services
  • Carl Watt, Head of Programmes, Arts & Business Scotland

Tea and coffee provided. Event ends with Q&A followed by networking and drinks.

DIA will present about the People’s Tower project where a replica of Dundee’s Royal Arch was built out of cardboard boxes. The project playfully engaged the local community in their built history, and was a successful partnership for both parties. Scottish Ballet and Check-It Scaffold will discuss their partnership which led to a new version of Swan Lake, formed from their shared values of precision, strength and perfectionism.
