Cross-sector collaboration: What’s working and what can we do better?

This session follows on from the Innovation Agency's Coaching Academy's Culture Camp on 24 August, which was about exploring culture in our integrated care systems. Fruitful cross-sector collaboration is a fundamental part of their success.

In this session, you will:

learn about the foundational theories/concepts that can help you build a culture for productive collaboration,
learn from system colleagues who are improving outcomes for people in their communities by working together,
hear about practical strategies and methods for successfully collaborating across sectors,
explore questions, barriers and opportunities for applying this learning to your current work.

Format

There will be a main session with interactive elements, and small-group breakout activities to give you the opportunity to reflect on how you can apply concepts in your organisation. It is also an excellent opportunity to network with colleagues from outside your area.

Speakers

This session will be chaired by Juliette Kumar, Associate Director, Culture and Workforce ,at the Innovation Agency.

Jen Kohan, Head of the Coaching Academy, at the Innovation Agency, will present a number of theories and research on cross-sector collaboration, as it most relates to health and care, and integrated care systems.
Dr Shashi Khandavalli, GP Partner, Clinical Director for Chorley Central PCN and clinical lead for Determinants of Health at the Central Lancashire Place Based Partnership, will be speaking about the value of truly embedding oneself in the community to improve population health and how he has seen success in recent projects tackling health inequalities in Lancashire.
Caroline Hutton, Service Development Manager, Retain Wellbeing CIC, will share insights into the Independent Transfer of Care Coordinators service which works in hospitals in the north-west to improve hospital discharges of patients who are ready to move into a care setting.

Who should attend

This session is for health and social care professionals, especially those in leadership positions. We also welcome interested staff from voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations.
