Culture Lunches are regular gathering of likeminded senior leadership teams, both men and women, who have a similar passion to pursue the presence of God, to encounter him and to see the culture of the kingdom break out in the churches they lead.
The purpose in meeting together is to encounter Father God together. We are not therefore limited to only gathering with other churches from our networks or denominations. Our common denominator is our hunger for more of Him. Our only ambition is to know Him more. As a result, not only are we inviting anyone who is hungry, but are happy for you to extend that same invitation too. The only requirement is that they are leaders hungry for more! This invitation is therefore for men, women, young and old leading in some kind of church context.
This next meeting, on the 15th February, we are looking at how we as church leaders can RAISE KINGDOM LEADERS IN THE MARKETPLACE and so I have invited Jerry Turner to come and speak to us. Jerry is an marketplace elder in Trinity Church in Finchley, London but his job is as Executive Principal of a Multi Academy Trust in South West Hertfordshire.
Jerry is an amazing example of someone who brings the Kingdom to his work place and, as an Elder at Trinity Church, is uniquely placed to help us consider how we better release others to be leaders and kingdom bringers in their work places.

Executive Principal of Bushey Meads School
After completing a music degree in 1987, I embarked on a PGCE course as a ‘back up plan’ but then caught God’s heart and the real buzz and excitement of ‘making a difference in the classroom.’ My journey in education began and in September 2006 I became the Headteacher of a challenging mixed comprehensive school in North London - a once failing school in many respects. Over the next 8 years the transformation was striking and outcomes massively improved; building from 37%, the school enabled 93% of students to achieved 5 or more A* - C grades at GCSE and over 60% 5+ A* - C grades including English and Maths. Ofsted also rated the school as 'Outstanding'. God's hand was definitely in it!
I now oversee two schools in South West Hertfordshire, which form a dynamic and exciting Multi Academy Trust and I have the privilege of working alongside other inspiring and dedicated teachers and leaders. Each and every day I have the opportunity to speak goodness into staff and students’ lives, to influence their destiny in a Godly way and also shape the education in the local area strategically. I can see how God has opened so many doors for me over the last two decades to showcase best practice with a number of local, national and international partners (including schools and universities across Europe and America). Amidst all of this however it is still the kind word, the thoughtful deed, the servant hearted leadership, the value that I place on others and the praise and recognition of goodness in their lives that makes the job that I do so inspiring and effective.
Whatever job you have, you will have relationships with people around you and a level of influence. If we can really understand the importance of being filled on a daily basis with the Holy Spirit; if we can really understand that we are sons and daughters of an awesome Heavenly King; if we can walk into our work places knowing that he has given us access to the power, wisdom and authority of heaven and has given us the ability to love others as Jesus loved us, then we will have an immense impact day in and day out.
In other words ordinary things will become extra ordinary and, with His presence in their midst, you will have great influence and bring great hope.
