This event gives you an interesting opportunity to see a gasification wood-burning boiler in action and discover the ins and outs of producing or buying fuel for it. You'll also see the owner's facilities for drying wood.
There's a chance to have a look at the solar PV installation and various other projects constructed from scrap and re-use materials, including an upcycled polytunnel.
Directions & parking
The postcode (CA10 1DX) will take you to the farm opposite. At the point where you would go up to the farm, turn left over the bridge and Beck Cottage is 70m up the hill (you'll see solar panels on the roof). Park on the grassy verges alongside the beck just before the bridge. There is some space in the wood yard next to the house and in front of the house. If you can't see a space, stop by the house and you'll be directed to more space.
Why not try lift-sharing? Visit https://liftshare.com/uk to list your journey to this event and see if you could share with others. (It’s great for all your other journeys, too!)
Wheelchair users will be able to access the wood-burning boiler and the polytunnel. There are two easy steps up to the conservatory area, and this can also be viewed from outside.
