Where does the event take place?

The workshop will take place in the Studio, our new workshop space on the second floor of Henry Moore Institute in the centre of Leeds.

Is there step-free access to this event?

We have an accessible entrance via lift on Cookridge Street, bringing you onto the ground floor of the Institute. Lift access to Leeds Art Gallery is via Leeds Central Library’s entrance on The Headrow (there is currently no ramp access due to essential building maintenance work).

We have three gender-neutral superloos (self-contained cubicles with a toilet and sink) on the basement level, accessible by lift. Additionally, we have one gender-neutral, accessible superloo, and one superloo with baby changing facilities.

Chadwick’s archive, one of the largest and most consulted collections in the Archive of Sculptors’ Papers, provides a unique insight into her modes of working and thinking about art and the crucial role that research played in her practice.

Tour of the exhibition

We’ll go together from the Institute to Leeds Art Gallery for a guided tour of the exhibition 'Helen Chadwick: Artist, Researcher, Archivist'.

Archive handling session

After the tour, we’ll head back over to the Archive of Sculptors’ Papers on the first floor of Henry Moore Institute to look at Helen Chadwick’s archive.
