Event description

Description

Join us for Curiosity Club as we celebrate British Science Week with two new sessions. The sessions will run on the two Friday's during British Science Week 9th-18th March 2018 (https://www.britishscienceweek.org) with one after-school and one later evening session. You are welcome to attend one or both sessions where you and your children can work together designing and building Rube Goldberg Machines.

Inventing Rube Goldberg Machines is great for building problem solving skills and resilience ... it's also incredibly creative and lot's of fun!

Rube Goldberg (1883-1970) was a Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist best known for his zany invention cartoons. A Rube Goldberg Machine is a machine that accomplishes a simple task in a humourous and inefficient way.

To bring that to life a little bit it would be worth checking out Audri's Rube Goldberg Machine https://youtu.be/0uDDEEHDf1Y and his inspiration, a video from OK Go https://youtu.be/qybUFnY7Y8w

This is event is for young people aged 7-17 years old. Under 13's will need to be accompanied by an adult. If you're a guardian of a teen, and they deem you cool enough, then please feel free to stay too. The event is completely free of charge.
