Curiosity Day at Birmingham St Mary's Hospice
Event Information
Description
Curious about what goes on at a hospice? Want to know more about what happens at the end of life?
On Friday 17th May, Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice is opening its doors to encourage more people to talk about death, dying and bereavement.
We’ll be hosting an intriguing and informative open day to help inspire and provoke conversations around the much-avoided subject.
Coinciding with national campaign ‘Dying Matters Awareness Week’, we’ll be giving you the opportunity to:
- Hear about a personal experience of hospice care
- Take a guided tour around the Hospice and our beautiful garden
- Chat to hospice staff and volunteers
- Explore therapeutic arts and meet our artist in residence
- Learn about funerals and what options are available
- Find out answers to questions you’ve always wanted to ask
- Enjoy light bites, tea and cake
Centred around the theme ‘curiosity’, this will be a unique opportunity to ask professionals what really happens at the end of life and find out why it’s so important that as a society, we talk more about death and dying.
This event is free to attend but we recommend booking a ticket in advance. To find out more, email marketing@birminghamhospice.org.uk
