Celebrate Mother's Day weekend with Curiosity Hub's Creative Tech Workshops on Saturday 5th March!
Curiosity Hub is proud to be part of Spring Forward, a Brighton based month-long celebration of the role of women in digital culture!
Girls aged 10-14, along with their mums (or other adult female mentor), are invited to attend one of our creative technology-based workshops. We will be running four sessions throughout the day, with a choice of two different themes:
Intro to Computer Science & Programming with Minecraft EDU (9.45am-11am or 11.15am-12.30pm)
This workshop will focus on learning Computer Science and Programming concepts within a Minecraft EDU world. Together you will work 'inside' Minecraft to solve puzzles and complete computing challenges! No previous programming experience is necessary. Minecraft EDU is the educator version of the popular sandbox game, and provides a safe and interactive learning environment.
Stop-motion Animation with HUE (1.15pm-2.30pm or 2.45pm-4pm)
Lights, camera, action! Together you will create your own short stop‐motion film using HUE Animation software and webcams. Get creative building sets and scenery using Lego and craft supplies, explore storytelling and learn about the science and technology behind stop‐motion! After the workshop, the movies can be emailed home.
Please note this event is aimed at girls aged 10-14.
Only one registration is required for each mother/daughter pair to attend a workshop.
Please only register for one workshop in order that we may maximise our outreach.
If a workshop has sold out, please add yourself to the waiting list (using the grey button above), as spaces may become available.
Please also sign up for our newsletter to be the first to hear about new workshops in the future!
