Curiosity Hub Workshop: 'Sporty Robots!' with Lego WeDo Robotics (ages 6-9)
Mon 1 August 2016, 10:00 – 12:00 BST
Workshop Theme: Sporty Robots! with Lego Education WeDo
Recommended Ages: 6-9. Students will be paired with a similarly aged partner. Please contact us if you are unsure of suitability.
Description: We'll be building and learning to program football-playing robots using Lego WeDo! Students will work in pairs to assemble robots using Lego Education WeDo robotics kits and use the visual drag-and-drop software to instruct the robots to kick and save the ball, and count goals, misses and blocks! We'll also be learning about motors, gears, levers and pulleys. Models built: Goal Kicker & Goal Keeper
Please note: Children will not be able to take the robotics kits home; parents are invited to view the robots in action and take photos/videos before we pack up.
Transport: There is 1hr free parking outside the venue, and free street parking nearby. The 5A bus route has plenty of regular buses from the centre of town, and stops next door, outside the Co-op Supermarket in Old London Road.
