About this event

  • 7 hours

Curiosity Outside the Classroom (Trips & Visits) by Curious Minds is here for teachers and school staff to help spark curiosity in their students, through delivering great trips and visits.

Taking students on cultural experiences outside of the classroom is an essential and formative part of education. Done well, school trips provide engaging and immersive learning opportunities, develop empathy and emotional connection to a subject, and make classroom activities feel real and relevant to the wider world.

These sessions will equip any school staff with the skills, confidence and knowledge to plan, advocate for and deliver brilliant trips and visits.

What to expect

Through this one-day course, we will:

  • Provide you with practical tools that will save you time and help you squeeze maximum value from school trips.
  • Widen your ideas about what cultural trips can achieve and help you advocate for their value.
  • Help you design an experience that meets the needs of your students and your own aims.
  • Understand the common mistakes made on cultural trips, based on feedback from over 2,000 school visits, and how to avoid them.

We can also arrange for Curious Minds expert facilitators to run this course with a larger group of your staff. Please get in touch with craig.millar@curiousminds.org.uk to find out more.
