Curious Stories for Curious Children is a reading programme designed to help develop both English language skills and their STEM identity.
About this event
We are looking for STEM Ambassadors who would like to take part in the Curious Stories for Curious Children activity by learning to read a STEM story aloud to a class of primary-aged children in an exciting and engaging way.
You will be trained by an experienced primary educator and given practical advice on how to present a fantastic story to children. You will be offered the chance to borrow a book from a list of great STEM-themed titles, ideally one that in some way relates to your STEM career or interests, and then deliver a Curious Story for Curious Children session (supported by teacher resources) to a primary class near you.
The reading workshop will last approximately 2 hours and will be held in person (COVID restrictions permitting) at UWE Bristol on 13th July, with an option to access via Zoom. Reading in school should take place from September 2022 onwards (and will be recorded as a separate activity).
