Curriculum and Assessment Review Update for Music and Art
Overview
The Curriculum and Assessment Review highlights the importance of firm arts foundations in Key Stages 1 to 3, strong progression and increased diversity of musicians and genres, artists and media. The scrapping of the EBacc promises more opportunity for arts subjects to flourish in Secondary, with the Government pledging that a high-quality arts provision will be ‘the entitlement of every child’.
In this 30-minute session, National Arts Lead Karen Stretch, Educational Content Lead for Music Juliet Beane and Educational Content Lead for Art Charlotte Clements delve into the review's recommendations and explore what they mean for teaching and learning, sharing practical next steps for schools and trusts.
