Overview

This webinar will provide information on the Curriculum Improvement Cycle - what it is and what it means for parents and families.

Scotland has embarked on a model for reviewing the curriculum. This takes around ten years to complete and is known as the Curriculum Improvement Cycle.


This webinar will provide Parental Involvement and Engagement Officers, Family Learning professionals, practitioners, educators and national parenting organisations with an opportunity to learn about the Curriculum Improvement Cycle - what it is and what it means for parents and families. It will help staff begin the process of considering how they can best support parents and families understand the curriculum reform to enable them to support their children’s learning at home.


The session will focus on:


· Background and a case for change

· How other countries review their curriculum

· Developing Scotland’s Curriculum Improvement Cycle progress so far

· Timelines

· Why is the curriculum review important for parents and families?

· What does this mean for our continued work with parents and families?

· How can we engage with you to support your work with parents and families on the curriculum review?
