Curve Films (Autumn Programme 2016)

Dates: Wednesdays (from 9th November to 14th December 2016)

Venue: The Venue @ The Curve, William Street, Slough SL1 1XY.

Course Fee: £100.00 (for all films and classes - bursaries avaliable) OR £20.00 per film and class

A six-week programme designed to inspire, explore and debate independent films from around the world.

Each week Resource Productions will lead a reflective session based on the previous week's film, including filmmaking techniques. Slough Co-operative Film Society will intrdocue all films.

9th November

Trumbo  (15)

A biopic of scriptwriter Dalton Trumbo whose successful career comes to an end when he and other Hollywood figures are blacklisted for their political beliefs.

A tender, touching and humorously absurd black comedy about a lonely motivational speaker, filmed entirely in breathtaking stop motion.



30th November

Tangerine  (15)

A real-time comedy drama shot on iPhones in downtown Los Angeles and featuring two transgender working girls in a vengeful mood.



7th December

Hitchcock Truffaut  (12A)

Dir. Kent Jones   France/USA  2015   (79m)

Documentary based on the original recordings in which the great British auteur shared the secrets of his cinema with his young admirer.



14th December

Hail Caesar  (12A)

Dir. Joel Coen and Ethan Coen   USA/UK/Japan  2016    (106m)

The Coen brothers re-unite with George Clooney and haul in an all-star cast for this madcap caper set in early 1950s Hollywood.
