Exploring Narrative Through Photomontage with Political Images
Join us for an engaging and hands-on workshop exploring the art of photocollage using political imagery, run by UDSO and hosted by Hospitable Environment in their new studio space, The Creative Living Lab, at the Marine Workshops.
In this session, participants will:
- Learn how to read and interpret political photographs
- Explore sequencing and visual storytelling through political themes
- Discover the work of three contemporary artists engaging with politics in their practice
- Experiment with a variety of photomontage techniques using found political images
No prior experience is required—just bring your creativity! All materials will be provided.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, connect with fellow creatives, and produce your own unique artwork in a supportive and inspiring environment.
You are invited to self-assess regarding your level of payment. Please use the green bottle to see where you fall on the sliding scale. If you would like to support our work, you can pay the supporter rate. If the cost prevents you from attending the workshop, we also offer a limited number of free spaces.
We are commited to supporting other organisations. 5% profit will go to Compass Collective: a small arts charity supporting young refugees and asylum seekers through creative projects and arts-led professional development programmes.
We look forward to seeing you there!
