MEETING POINT at the entrance.
Join us for a tour of Runnymede Air Forces Memorial to mark Black History Month. The Air Forces Memorial at Runnymede commemorates 20,000 air force personnel who lost their lives during the Second World War while serving from bases in the United Kingdom and across North and Western Europe and who have no known graves.
Among those commemorated are airmen from across the Commonwealth—including the Caribbean, Africa, and beyond—who served with distinction in Bomber, Fighter, Coastal, Transport, Flying Training, and Maintenance Commands.
Their legacy is shared with those from occupied European nations who joined the Royal Air Force to continue the fight against tyranny. The memorial not only honours their sacrifice but also reminds us of the diverse and global nature of the Second World War.
There is no parking available at the Memorial. There is parking at Coopers Hill Lane Car Park. It is possible to be dropped at the gates of the memorial for those with mobility issues. There is also parking at the foot of the hill at the National Trust and then a walk.
There are no facilites at the site.
