Around the world ordinary people do extraordinary things every day for their community. They do it today, and they did during the world wars.
Join us this War Graves Week in a celebration of the remarkable everyday men and women who faced extraordinary times during the world wars and gave their lives for their communities.
MEETING POINT: Meeting point is outside the cemetery gate house on Mansfield Road.
The tour will visit the First and Second World War graves of many local men but also those from all over the UK. There are 19 First World War and 63 Second World War burials including a Polish airman.
A small car park is located opposite the main cemetery entrance. Public transport available via the 87 bus from Parliament Street in Nottingham City Centre and stops just a few yards from the cemetery. There are on-site facilities including toilets. The ground is uneven and hilly in parts with some steep slopes. There is some wheelchair access.
Please come prepared for all weathers, and wear sensible walking shoes. Please bring water as refreshments are not available.
